Audit the Fed Mass Action Day Sept 15!

Got this today from John Tate, President of Campaign For Liberty. You see, the FEDs tax audit you every year. There are all kinds of other audit programs in place. It is time to get up and show that we want to audit the FED. We've got internet banking, online checking accounts and online savings accounts. These accounts are fully transparent with the bank. So why would the FED need to be secretive? Secretive banking got us into troubles. Transparent banking is possible and is a way out! -Matt

September 7, 2009
Dear Friend of Liberty,
Seventy-five percent of Americans agree with us that it's time to thoroughly and completely audit the Federal Reserve System.
Every Republican and over one hundred Democrats in the House of Representatives have signed on as cosponsors of HR 1207. Almost a quarter of the Senate has gotten on board with S 604.
So what does this tell us?
It's time to go get the rest!!
Last month, I announced that we would be holding an Audit the Fed Mass Action Event starting in the last couple weeks of August and culminating in a nationwide Mass Action Day on September 15.
Since then, C4L members have been knocking on doors, standing outside stores, attending county fairs, and gathering petition signatures in support of S 604.
On September 15, C4L National will deliver over 100,000 petitions to Capitol Hill while members across the country deliver the petitions they've collected to their senators' local offices. Many of your fellow members will be holding rallies outside those offices, and several have contacted local media about covering the event.
Here are three ways you can help ensure the success of this Mass Action Event:
1.) Gather petitions – Hit the streets! Make sure your senators hear from as many people in your state as possible. Let's spread the word and add to the seventy-five percent of Americans who support our cause. You can download petitions at CampaignforLiberty.com and AuditTheFed.com.
2.) Call your senators – Starting Tuesday, September 8, C4L members will be calling their senators' offices to urge them to cosponsor S 604. Our objective is to keep their phones ringing off the hook by having members call every day for the week leading up to the petition drop. Commit to calling your senators by signing up here.
3.) Show up on September 15 - Congress counts on grassroots activists being content with just calling and sending petitions. To make sure they get our message that it's time to Audit the Fed, we're going to take our cause right to their offices in person. These events will be as effective as you make them. Show your senators that you are serious about real reform by rallying with your fellow members right outside their offices.
State and local coordinators and leaders have been working hard to create the most effective and efficient plans for September 15's petition drop. Click here to find out how to take action in your area.
We were able to secure the support of almost two thirds of the House with your hard work gathering petitions, calling, and showing up at your representative's offices. This could be the event that tips the scales in the Senate!
As we also announced last month, we're adding an extra incentive. The person who gathers the most signatures in each state will win a pocket Constitution and a copy of Dr. Paul’s new book, End the Fed, both autographed by Congressman Paul himself.

And whichever state collects the most signatures (as a percentage of population) will win a $1,500 gift certificate to the Campaign for Liberty store!
Our representatives and senators are expecting to settle back in to business as usual when they return to D.C. after Labor Day. They think that they can leave your opinions and concerns behind in their districts while they continue to work on completely taking over our health care and finding other new ways to run our lives.
Let's show them that their top priority should be finding out how the Federal Reserve has doled out trillions of our dollars, what deals they have locked us into with foreign central banks and governments, and why they refuse to disclose the details.
The day after our petition drop will mark the official release of End the Fed. This comprehensive look at the Federal Reserve System and its disastrous effects on our lives and country is sure to be a powerful tool with which to convince your family, friends, and neighbors that it's time to restore our economy by reinstituting a sound money system.
A year ago, no one would have said we could make an audit of the Fed into a national, mainstream issue. Join us on September 15 as we show the political establishment, entrenched bureaucrats, and the media that our grassroots Revolution is more energized and determined to take back our country than ever before.

In Liberty,

John Tate
President

P.S. Together, we can see Audit the Fed signed into law. But to do so, we have to take action to grow and secure our support in the House and Senate. Download our petitions and other materials, spread the word, call your senators, and join us on September 15 as we come together across the country to fight to Audit the Fed!

Organic Food Producers in DANGER! HR 2749

Got this note from W.C. Douglass. Another attempt at inching the small business out. Please act now to prevent this restrictive bill to pass. Pretending to be "enhancement of food safety" it's really just to kill off the small, organic farms. Say no to government control of what you can eat. (Click here to sign the NFS petition.)

Urgent health freedom information

A call to arms to save our food and our freedom!

Dear Friend,

The very future of organic food in the United States has come under attack. And if we don't act -- and fast -- the health of you and future generations could be permanently compromised.

Congress, in its infinite stupidity, has recently passed House Resolution 2749. This ugly bit of legislation is called the "Food Safety Enhancement Act of 2009."

Boy, is that a misnomer if I've ever heard one.

Typical of all Obama legislation, this fascist act was hurried through Congress too quickly for any lawmaker to read it (assuming any of those dolts would have bothered to try).

The farm controls mandated by this law would usher in complete government control of the food supply, and ultimately the end of organic foods. Why? Because it would give the FDA complete power to impose one-size-fits-all regulations on ALL food producers -- including independent farmers.

And because this bill also limits the amount of recourse food producers have in the courts, this means that the FDA will be able to snuff out all the foods this agency (and the influential lobbyists at whose behest this agency tends to act) it wants.

That's right: in one fell swoop, the Obama Administration is about to do away with all of pesky little state struggles being waged against organic farms and dairies, and win the war with one gigantic, fascist law.

All of those good things I've been telling you to consume more of -- raw milk, hormone- free meat, organic vegetables -- would be gone. For good.

Of course, the bill doesn't spell that out in so many words. No one would agree to it.

But since it would impose all manner of standards that would be impossible or unaffordable for small, organic farms to meet, the bill sentences organic farmers to death by paper cuts.

And those farmers guilty of even the most minor infraction of the many new regulations will feel the entire weight of the federal government crashing down upon them -- fines in the millions of dollars, and prison terms up to a staggering eight years.

The bill would even require ALL food producers to register with the FDA... for the hefty sum of $1,000!

But this hideous bill isn't a law just yet. There's still hope -- and that hope lies with you.

Help me defeat this dangerous bill

While the Food Safety Enhancement Act of 2009 has already passed the House, there's still time to be sure it doesn't get past the Senate and into range of Obama and his deadly pen.

But I can't stress this enough: the time is NOW.

As you know, I've been an outspoken proponent of organic and natural foods. As Americans, it is our right -- as well as the rights of our children and grandchildren -- to have the freedom to eat the kind of food we think is best for our health.

We must smash this attempt at complete government control of the very food we eat. And that's why I've partnered with the Natural Solution Foundation (NSF), and their efforts to kill HR 2749 in the Senate.

Since 2004, the NSF has worked toward the same goal that I write to you about each week: the support of health freedom in the United States. I think this organization is a valuable and powerful ally in this fight.

I urge you to join me and my partners at the NSF to act now to help put an end to this bill. We've already seen arrogant lawmakers made to cower before the outrage of American voters who are against the monstrous Obama healthcare reform bill. Let them hear your outrage at the Draconian restrictions of this so-called "Food Safety Act."

Remember all that you have to lose. What I'm talking about is bigger than the vitamin D, calcium, and natural antibiotics that you'll miss when you never again have the chance to drink a glass of raw milk. It's about the freedom of small farmers here in our country, and ultimately your own freedom as well.

If you've ever taken any of the advice that I've offered you to heart, please act now. Call both your senators. Write them. Sign petitions. (Click here to sign the NFS petition.)

Let your voice be heard.

Urging you to help keep the FDA at bay,

William Campbell Douglass II, M.D.

Action Alert from Campaign For Liberty - No Bailout for Big 3

Action Alert

After the Paulson $700 billion bailout package passed in early October, we knew it was only a matter of time before Congress moved to use your money yet again to bail out a struggling industry.

Now, a vote to give funds to the "Big 3" auto manufactures, GM, Ford, and Chrysler, is likely to come up in the Senate tomorrow.

Call your Senators today and ask them to oppose bailing out the auto industry, whether with funds from TARP, revisions of previous loans, or any new grants. To find the information for your Senators, click on our "States" page and look for your state. Phone numbers and links to contact forms can be found near the bottom of each state's page. We have included recommended letters at the end of this email to send your Senator.

The ultimate fate of the auto industry bailout remains uncertain, and it is crucial that we contact our Senators today and urge them to stick to the Constitution and free market principles.

Please also consider making a donation to Campaign for Liberty today to aid us in our efforts to fight big government policies at the local, state, and federal levels. Together, we will achieve our goals of reclaiming our Republic and restoring our Constitution.

In Liberty,

John Tate

Letter #1

Dear Senator (Name),

I urge you to oppose any bailout of the auto industry, whether by taking existing funds from TARP, revising any previous loans, or making new grants.

The auto industry is lobbying hard for taxpayer money when they should be entirely focused on restructuring their companies and recouping their losses. There is no guarantee that a government handout will have any positive effect, and that GM, Ford, and Chrysler will not be back in a few months asking for additional billions.

Since a bailout will only delay the economic consequences of the Big 3's current predicaments, Congress should allow the market to work so that the fallout can be dealt with and overcome as quickly as possible.

Instead of handing out more of the taxpayers' money and moving further away from the free market ideas that made America great, I ask you to:

1.) Curb regulation: The auto industry is already one of the most heavily-regulated industries, and a bailout will bring more government regulation and additional costs. Alleviating even a little of the red tape would free up resources for them to address their financial situations, save jobs, and produce quality products to jump-start sales.

2.) Cut taxes: Cutting corporate and capital gains taxes would give these companies immediate funds to put toward their problems. Cutting individual income taxes would return much needed money to workers and consumers, strengthening their financial positions and purchasing power during these turbulent times.

Taking just these two steps will save the industry far more in the long run than the numbers currently being proposed for the bailout.

Additionally, because the Paulson TARP plan has abandoned its originally stated purpose of buying toxic assets, is not holding up its promises to be transparent, and has not been properly accountable to Congress, no further expenditures should be authorized until the Treasury Department presents a full accounting to Congress of how it has already dispersed TARP funds.

Since the election, Republicans have talked of returning to their limited government message. This is a chance for you to prove your commitment to free market capitalism and the freedom philosophy by demonstrating that the Republican Party will be worthy of our trust in the next Congress. A vote for another bailout will send the signal that, despite any lip-service paid to limited government principles, Republican talking points of defending them are cheap and little more than campaign rhetoric.

The answers to our economic problems cannot be found in further government intervention. As your constituent, I urge you not to put my tax dollars on the line and to vote "no" on the auto industry bailout.

Sincerely,
