Obama, You Scare Me

Got this from a good friend of mine. This heart felt letter is making rounds on the Internet. NY Times refused to publish.
Lou Pritchett is one of corporate America 's true living legends- an
acclaimed author, dynamic teacher and one of the world's highest rated speakers.. Successful corporate executives everywhere recognize him as the foremost leader in change management. Lou changed the way America does business by creating an audacious concept that came to be known as "partnering." Pritchett rose from soap salesman to Vice-President, Sales and Customer Development for Procter and Gamble and over the course of 36 years, made corporate history.
AN OPEN LETTER TO
PRESIDENT OBAMA
Dear President Obama:
You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.
You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.
You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support.
You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.
You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.
You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core.
You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others.
You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.
You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America ' crowd and deliver this message abroad.
You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.
You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.
You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.
You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.
You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations.
You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.
You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider
opposing points of view from intelligent people.
You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.
You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.
You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.
You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.
Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.
Lou Pritchett
This letter was sent to the NY Times but they never acknowledged it. Big surprise. Since it hit the internet, however, it has had over 500,000 hits. Keep it going. All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing.. It's happening right now.

Ron Paul Video on Healthcare Takeover

This medical doctor does not like ObamaCare!

Dear Friend,

As both a defender of Liberty and a Medical Doctor, I’m very concerned about the plans the Obama Administration and many in Congress have to increase the government’s role in healthcare.

Medical decisions being made by government bureaucrats, loss of privacy of medical data, and our ability to keep our own insurance and doctors are all up for grabs once Congress starts moving on these government takeover and rationing schemes.

But the good news is you and I can fight back.

Because you’ve joined me in battle before, I wanted you to be among the first people contacted by Campaign for Liberty in their fight against this federal power grab of our healthcare.

As you may know, Campaign for Liberty is carrying the Revolution forward and is leading the fight in Congress and all across the country, mobilizing Patriots to battle.

This battle against government-run healthcare is one I sincerely hope you will join.

Please watch this video I recorded to in response to this Government Healthcare Takeover Plan.

And if you have not already, please take a careful look at the letter below from Campaign for Liberty’s President, John Tate, and do all you can to help our fight for freedom.

For Liberty,

Congressman Ron Paul

US taxpayers do NOT want to support an organization convicted
of voters fraud in 12 states! --Matt

Dear Friend:
ACORN is celebrating its birthday and as a gift from its friends in the House leadership an amendment that Congressman Steve King (R-IA) and I offered to keep ACORN from getting federal grant funds through the Census and other federal grant programs has been denied debate.
They won't even let it come to the House floor for discussion. They don't want to have to go on the record in support of this corrupt organization.
No wonder: The American people have said loud and clear that they don't want Congress funneling their hard-earned tax dollars to ACORN.
In less than 2 weeks, nearly 32,000 Americans signed my petition to stop Congress from spending millions on ACORN's voter registration fraud.

Congress has absolutely no intention to stop funding ACORN. And, if they can't say no to ACORN -- an organization investigated and indicted for voter registration fraud in more than a dozen states -- where will they draw the line?!
This is your money. You have the right to say that you've had enough.

BARACK OBAMA GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE

Senator Tom Coburn Speech 2/10/2009

Some 'stimulating' plain talk...

Written by Senator Tom Coburn
Tuesday, 10 February 2009

[Senator Coburn recently gave this speech on the floor of the Senate]

We are going in exactly the wrong direction. We ought to be standing on the principles that made this country great.

There ought to be a review of every program in the Federal Government that is not effective, that is not efficient, that is wasteful or fraudulent, and we ought to get rid of it right now. We ought to say, Gone, to be able to pay for a real stimulus plan that might, in fact, have some impact.

I would be remiss if I didn't remind everybody that next week we are going to hear from the Obama administration wanting another $500 billion. Outside of this ["stimulus" bill], they are going to want another $500 billion to handle the banking system.

I want to make sure the American people know what is in this Stimulus bill. I think once they know what is in this bill, they are going to reject it out of hand. Let me read for my colleagues some of the things that are in this bill.

The biggest earmark in history is in this bill. There is $2 billion in this bill to build a coal plant with zero emissions. That would be great, maybe, if we had the technology, but the greatest brains in the world sitting at MIT say we don't have the technology yet to do that.

Why would we build a $2 billion powerplant we don;t have the technology for that we know will come back and ask for another $2 billion and another $2 billion and another $2 billion when we could build a demonstration project that might cost $150 million or $200 million? There is nothing wrong with having coal-fired plants that don't produce pollution; I am not against that. Even the Washington Post said the technology isn't there. It is a boondoggle. Why would we do that?

We eliminated tonight a $246 million payback for the large movie studios in Hollywood.

We are going to spend $88 million to study whether we ought to buy a new ice breaker for the Coast Guard. You know what. The Coast Guard needs a new ice breaker. Why do we need to spend $88 million? They have two ice breakers now that they could retrofit and fix and come up with equivalent to what they needed to and not spend the $1 billion they are going to come back and ask for, for another ice breaker, so why would we spend $88 million doing that?

We are going to spend $448 million to build the Department of Homeland Security a new building. We have $1.3 trillion worth of empty buildings right now, and because it has been blocked in Congress we can't sell them, we can't raze them, we can't do anything, but we are going to spend money on a new building here in Washington.

We are going to spend another $248 million for new furniture for that building; a quarter of a billion dollars for new furniture. What about the furniture the Department of Homeland Security has now? These are tough times. Should we be buying new furniture? How about using what we have? That is what a family would do. They would use what they have. They wouldn't go out and spend $248 million on furniture.

How about buying $600 million worth of hybrid vehicles? Do you know what I would say? Right now times are tough; I would rather Americans have new cars than Federal employees have new cars. What is wrong with the cars we have? Dumping $600 million worth of used vehicles on the used vehicle market right now is one of the worst things we could do. Instead, we are going to spend $600 million buying new cars for Federal employees.

There is $400 million in here to prevent STDs. I have a lot of experience on that. I have delivered 4,000 babies. We don't need to spend $400 million on STDs. What we need to do is properly educate about the infection rates and the effectiveness of methods of prevention. That doesn't take a penny more. You can write that on one piece of paper and teach every kid in this country, but we don't need to spend $400 million on it. It is not a priority.

How about $150 million for a Smithsonian museum? Tell me how that helps get us out of a recession. Tell me how that is a priority. Would the average American think that is a priority that we ought to be mortgaging our kids' future to spend another $150 million at the Smithsonian?

How about $1 billion for the 2010 census? So everybody knows, the census is so poorly managed that the census in 2010 is going to cost twice what it cost 10 years ago, and we wasted $800 million on a contract because it was no-bid that didn't perform. Nobody got fired, no competitive bidding, and we blew $800 million.

We have $75 million for smoking cessation activities, which probably is a great idea, but we just passed a bill, the SCHIP bill, that we need to get 21 million more Americans smoking to be able to pay for that bill. That doesn't make sense.

How about $200 million for public computer centers at community colleges? I mean, did we talk with Dell and Hewlett-Packard and say, How do we make you all do better? Is there not a market force that could make that better? Will we actually buy on a true competitive bid?

No, because there is nothing that requires competitive bidding in anything in this bill. There is nothing that requires it. It is one of the things President Obama said he was going to mandate at the Federal Government, but there is no competitive bidding in this bill at all.

We have $10 million to inspect canals in urban areas. Well, that will put 10 or 15 people to work. Is that a priority for us right now?

There is $6 billion to turn Federal buildings into green buildings. That is a priority, versus somebody getting a job outside of Washington, a job that actually produces something, that actually increases wealth?

How about $500 million for State and local fire stations? Where do you find in the Constitution us paying for local fire stations within our realm of prerogatives? None of it is competitively bid.

Next is $1.2 billion for youth activities. Who does that employ? What does that mean?

How about $88 million for renovating the public health service building? You know, if we could sell half of the $1.3 trillion worth of properties we have, we could take care of every Federal building requirement and backlog we have.

Then there's $412 million for CDC [Centers for disease Control] buildings and property. We spent billions on a new center and headquarters for CDC. Is that a priority? If we are going to spend $412 million on building buildings, let's build one that will produce something, one that will give us something.

How about $850 million for that most 'efficient' Amtrak that hasn't made any money since 1976 and continues to have $2 billion or $3 billion a year in subsidies?

Here is one of my favorites: $75 million to construct a new 'security training' facility for State Department security officers. We already have four other facilities already available to train them. But they want theirs. By the way, it is going to be in West Virginia. I wonder how that got there.

So we are going to build a new training facility that duplicates four others that we already have that could easily do what we need to do. But because we have a stimulus package, we are going to add in oink pork.

How about $200 million in funding for a lease - not buying, but a lease - of alternative energy vehicles on military installations?

We are going to bail out the States on Medicaid. Total all of the health programs in this, and we are going to transfer $150 billion out of the private sector and we are going to move it to the Federal Government. You talk about backdooring national health care.

Henry Waxman has to be smiling big today. He wants a single-payer Government-run health care system. We are going to move another $150 billion to the Federal Government from the private sector.

We are going to eliminate fees on loans from the Small Business Administration. You know what that does? That pushes productive capital to unproductive projects. It is exactly the wrong thing to do.

We are going to spend $524 million for information technology upgrades that the Appropriations Committee claims will create 388 jobs. If you do the math on that, that is $1.5 million a job. Don't you love the efficiency of Washington thinking?

We are going to create $79 billion in additional money for the States, a 'slush fund,' to bail out States and provide millions of dollars for education costs. How many of you think that will ever go away?

Once the State education programs get $79 billion over 2 years, do you think that will ever go away? The cry and hue of taking 'our money' away, even though it was a stimulus and supposed to be limited, it will never go away. So we will continue putting that forward until our kids have grandkids of their own.

There is about $47 billion for a variety of energy programs that are primarily focused on renewable energy. I am fine with spending that. But we ought to get something for it. There ought to be metrics. There are no metrics. It is pie in the sky, saying we will throw some money at it.

Let me conclude by saying we are at a seminal moment in our country. We will either start living within the confines of realism and responsibility or we will blow it and we will create the downfall of the greatest nation that ever lived.

This bill is the start of that downfall. To abandon a market-oriented society and transfer it to a Soviet-style, government-centered, bureaucratic-run and mandated program, that is the thing that will put the stake in the heart of freedom in this country.

I hope the American people know what is in this bill. I am doing everything I can to make sure they know. But more important, I hope somebody is listening who will treat the 'pneumonia' we are faced with today, which is the housing and mortgage markets. It doesn't matter how much money we spend in this bill. It is doomed to failure unless we fix that problem first.

Failing that, we will go down in history as the Congress that undermined the future and vitality of this country. Let it not be so.

The Real Change Requires R3volution

Just got this from C4L today. It shows the face of the Real Obama: More of the same old, reckless lobbyists payoffs, pork-laden spending and little regard for market forces. The real change requires R3volution.

February 18, 2009

Dear Friend of Liberty,

Yesterday, Barack Obama signed the $787 BILLION “stimulus” bill into law. This marks his first major legislative action, but just one of many already broken campaign promises.

He promised transparency and accountability in the legislative process, but the details of the bill were negotiated in closed-door sessions. Then, only a very limited number of physical copies were made available.

In addition, lawmakers had less than 24 hours to review the over 1,000 page bill before the vote was taken, hardly enough time to read a bill with such critical implications for our economy.

So far, one thing is clear from these early weeks of the Obama administration:

Barack Obama has brought no real change to Washington.

He is continuing the reckless spending and out of control debt of the last administration. He is playing the usual Washington games of partisan bickering and exempting those who work for him from standards required of every other American. His “stimulus” is packed with lobbyist payoffs and special-interest pork.

Barack Obama is right about one thing – we ARE facing a serious economic crisis. But he is wrong that “only government can break the vicious cycle.”

Big Government economic policies are the cause of the cycle, not the solution!

Reckless spending and socialist meddling will only prolong the economic turmoil our government has created. We cannot allow the new administration continue down this same destructive path.

Only fiscal restraint, free markets, and individual liberty can return us to stability and prosperity.

Click here to see Dr. Paul discussing this pork-laden spendfest and its hurried passage on CNN's American Morning.

And for an interesting explanation of the problems with these Keynesian policies, read best-selling author Tom Woods’ Campaign for Liberty featured article Tooth Fairy Economics.

Obama. Change. What Change?

What Change?

By Chuck Baldwin

December 5, 2008

This column is archived at

http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2008/cbarchive_20081205.html

"Change you can believe in." This was Barack Obama's campaign slogan. There

is no doubt that the American people were fed up with George W. Bush and his

fellow Republicans. Who can blame them?

After campaigning for change back in 1999 (What political challenger doesn't

campaign for change?), President Bush and his fellow neocons promptly set

out to continue business as usual in Washington, D.C. Federal spending and

meddling exploded under the leadership of the GOP. In fact, one has to go

back to the administrations of Franklin D. Roosevelt to match the increases

in Big Government and Big Brother by Bush and Company. Add to the

out-of-control spending habits of the GOP an unnecessary war, a

near-Depression economy, and a burgeoning police state. It is no surprise

that the American people were ready for change. And Obama excelled in

delivering the message of change. So, what kind of change will Obama

actually deliver?

Will Obama remove U.S. troops from Iraq and Afghanistan? Probably not. Oh,

he might reduce troops in Iraq, but if anyone believes that he will not

leave a significant U.S. presence in Iraq, they are living in a dream world.

Furthermore, many, if not most, of the troops from Iraq will most likely

find themselves in Afghanistan. Mark my words; Barack Obama has no plans to

remove U.S. troops from the Middle East. Net result: no change.

What about America's economic woes? What changes will Barack Obama bring to

the table? Hardly any. America will continue it's trademark deficit

spending; we will continue to send manufacturing jobs overseas; so-called

"free trade" deals will continue to advance; Big Business will continue to

receive government bailouts; the Federal Reserve will continue to call the

shots for America's financial decisions (and reap gargantuan profits in the

process); Congress will continue to be inept, irresponsible, and clueless;

there will be no attempt to return the United States to sound money

principles; and there will be no reduction in foreign aid. In a nutshell, it

will be business as usual in Washington, D.C., and New York City.

Don't get me wrong: Barack Obama will doubtless throw out some bones to his

liberal supporters in much the same way that Republican presidents throw out

a bone or two to their conservative constituents. Watch for Obama to

overturn the ban on embryonic stem cell research. America's upper income

earners can expect some sort of tax increase. No doubt oil companies will

end up losing some tax exemptions. Watch for additional environmentalist

policies to be enacted. And, yes, there will be some sort of "universal

health care" proposal. But the Bush administration has already given America

a socialized financial system, so how can Republicans complain about

socialized medicine?

Obama might try to resurrect the "Fairness Doctrine." Some suggest that

Obama might try to rid the prohibition of homosexuals serving in the armed

forces, but I doubt that he will take on this one. The political net gain

would not be worth the potential fallout.

Although he might want to, I doubt that Obama will actively promote

additional gun control (Democrats always lose when this happens). He may

push for a ban on "high capacity" magazines that hold over ten rounds, as

Bill Clinton did. If Obama does not go after guns directly, we can expect

some sort of attack on ammunition (which is already happening) that will

drive up the cost of ammo even more. Of course, some sort of gun

confiscation or martial law could materialize in the wake of another

"terrorist" attack. But a McCain administration would act no differently,

so, again, the net result is zero change. Remember, it was Republican George

W. Bush who expunged Posse Comitatus and deployed 20,000 army troops on U.S.

soil to be used for domestic law enforcement. If Obama really wanted to

bring about change, he would reverse Bush's draconian decisions, would he

not? Don't hold your breath.

We can also expect more harassment of gun owners and lawful gun dealers by

the BATFE. But this is no change at all. The current leadership at BATFE is

already about as hostile to gun owners and gun dealers as it can possibly

be. An Obama BATFE will be no worse. But neither will it be any better. Net

result: no change.

So, what will be the overall change to the direction of America? Answer:

there will be no change to the overall direction of the country. There will

be no change to the welfare state. There will be little change to the

warfare state. No change to NATO, except to expand it. Very little change,

if any, to foreign policy. No change to America's open sieves, otherwise

called national borders. And there will be absolutely no change to the

burgeoning New World Order that began in earnest under both Bushes and Bill

Clinton.

The NAFTA superhighway will have the support of the Obama administration.

The North American Community will proceed unimpeded by the Obama White

House. In all likelihood, the Amero (a common currency with Canada and

Mexico) will materialize during Obama's first term. But this would all have

happened had John McCain been elected. No change here.

One reason why it is so easy to predict a business-as-usual Obama Presidency

is the people that Obama has surrounded himself with. Former New York

Federal Reserve chairman Timothy Geithner* for Secretary of the Treasury;

former Secretary of the Treasury Lawrence Summers* for National Economic

Council director; Bush's Defense Secretary Robert Gates* will keep his job;

Illinois Representative Rahm Emanuel for Obama's Chief of Staff; Hillary

Clinton for Secretary of State; Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano* for

Secretary of Homeland Security; former South Dakota Senator Tom Daschle* to

head the Health and Human Services Department; former Assistant Attorney

General Eric Holder to be Attorney General; New Mexico Governor Bill

Richardson* as Secretary of Commerce; Susan Rice* for U.S. Ambassador to the

United Nations; Paul Volcker* for the Economic Recovery Advisory Board;

James Steinberg* as Deputy Secretary of State; Mona Sutphen* for Deputy

White House Chief of Staff, and Louis Caldera* for Director of the White

House Military Office.

Does anyone see "change" with the above names? Every one of them is a

longtime political insider. And at least eleven of them (those with an

asterisk [*] behind their names, above) are members of the globalist Council

on Foreign Relations (CFR). In fact, six out of the eleven cabinet-level

positions in the Obama administration are CFR members.

The CFR has dominated both Democrat and Republican Presidential

administrations for decades. Presidents such as Dwight Eisenhower, Richard

Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton have all

been members of the CFR. Vice Presidents such as Hubert Humphrey, Nelson

Rockefeller, Walter Mondale, and Dick Cheney have been CFR members. And over

the last several decades, practically every secretary of defense, secretary

of the treasury, and most CIA directors have been CFR members. And let's not

forget that this year's Republican Presidential nominee, John McCain, is a

CFR member.

Do you now see why--no matter who is elected President of the United

States--nothing changes? Republican or Democrat, it does not matter: the CFR

and their collaborators remain in power. And as Sonny and Cher used to sing,

"The Beat Goes On."

There will be no real change in Washington, D.C., until the CFR and their

elitist cronies are thoroughly and universally removed from power. And the

only way this will happen is if we elect an Independent President of the

United States (someone who truly understands the New World Order and is

dedicated to defeating it), because the two major parties will never allow

someone opposed to the CFR to become their nominee. The only Republican

candidate for President in 2008 who demonstrated those credentials was Dr.

Ron Paul. And to a lesser degree, the only Democrat who even seemed to

vaguely understand this was Dennis Kucinich. Notice that both men were

thoroughly repudiated by their respective parties' leadership and all but

totally ignored by the national news media. (The CFR and their surrogates

also control the national news media. What a coincidence!)

So, while the occupant at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue may have changed, there

will be no real change to the direction of these United States. Count on it!

Dear Friends:

The financial meltdown the economists of the Austrian School predicted has arrived.

We are in this crisis because of an excess of artificially created credit at the hands of the Federal Reserve System. The solution being proposed? More artificial credit by the Federal Reserve. No liquidation of bad debt and malinvestment is to be allowed. By doing more of the same, we will only continue and intensify the distortions in our economy - all the capital misallocation, all the malinvestment - and prevent the market's attempt to re-establish rational pricing of houses and other assets.

Last night the president addressed the nation about the financial crisis. There is no point in going through his remarks line by line, since I'd only be repeating what I've been saying over and over - not just for the past several days, but for years and even decades.

Still, at least a few observations are necessary.

The president assures us that his administration "is working with Congress to address the root cause behind much of the instability in our markets." Care to take a guess at whether the Federal Reserve and its money creation spree were even mentioned?

We are told that "low interest rates" led to excessive borrowing, but we are not told how these low interest rates came about. They were a deliberate policy of the Federal Reserve. As always, artificially low interest rates distort the market. Entrepreneurs engage in malinvestments - investments that do not make sense in light of current resource availability, that occur in more temporally remote stages of the capital structure than the pattern of consumer demand can support, and that would not have been made at all if the interest rate had been permitted to tell the truth instead of being toyed with by the Fed.

Not a word about any of that, of course, because Americans might then discover how the great wise men in Washington caused this great debacle. Better to keep scapegoating the mortgage industry or "wildcat capitalism" (as if we actually have a pure free market!).

Speaking about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the president said: "Because these companies were chartered by Congress, many believed they were guaranteed by the federal government. This allowed them to borrow enormous sums of money, fuel the market for questionable investments, and put our financial system at risk."

Doesn't that prove the foolishness of chartering Fannie and Freddie in the first place? Doesn't that suggest that maybe, just maybe, government may have contributed to this mess? And of course, by bailing out Fannie and Freddie, hasn't the federal government shown that the "many" who "believed they were guaranteed by the federal government" were in fact correct?

Then come the scare tactics. If we don't give dictatorial powers to the Treasury Secretary "the stock market would drop even more, which would reduce the value of your retirement account. The value of your home could plummet." Left unsaid, naturally, is that with the bailout and all the money and credit that must be produced out of thin air to fund it, the value of your retirement account will drop anyway, because the value of the dollar will suffer a precipitous decline. As for home prices, they are obviously much too high, and supply and demand cannot equilibrate if government insists on propping them up.

It's the same destructive strategy that government tried during the Great Depression: prop up prices at all costs. The Depression went on for over a decade. On the other hand, when liquidation was allowed to occur in the equally devastating downturn of 1921, the economy recovered within less than a year.

The president also tells us that Senators McCain and Obama will join him at the White House today in order to figure out how to get the bipartisan bailout passed. The two senators would do their country much more good if they stayed on the campaign trail debating who the bigger celebrity is, or whatever it is that occupies their attention these days.

F.A. Hayek won the Nobel Prize for showing how central banks' manipulation of interest rates creates the boom-bust cycle with which we are sadly familiar. In 1932, in the depths of the Great Depression, he described the foolish policies being pursued in his day - and which are being proposed, just as destructively, in our own:

Instead of furthering the inevitable liquidation of the maladjustments brought about by the boom during the last three years, all conceivable means have been used to prevent that readjustment from taking place; and one of these means, which has been repeatedly tried though without success, from the earliest to the most recent stages of depression, has been this deliberate policy of credit expansion.

To combat the depression by a forced credit expansion is to attempt to cure the evil by the very means which brought it about; because we are suffering from a misdirection of production, we want to create further misdirection - a procedure that can only lead to a much more severe crisis as soon as the credit expansion comes to an end... It is probably to this experiment, together with the attempts to prevent liquidation once the crisis had come, that we owe the exceptional severity and duration of the depression.

The only thing we learn from history, I am afraid, is that we do not learn from history.

The very people who have spent the past several years assuring us that the economy is fundamentally sound, and who themselves foolishly cheered the extension of all these novel kinds of mortgages, are the ones who now claim to be the experts who will restore prosperity! Just how spectacularly wrong, how utterly without a clue, does someone have to be before his expert status is called into question?

Oh, and did you notice that the bailout is now being called a "rescue plan"? I guess "bailout" wasn't sitting too well with the American people.

The very people who with somber faces tell us of their deep concern for the spread of democracy around the world are the ones most insistent on forcing a bill through Congress that the American people overwhelmingly oppose. The very fact that some of you seem to think you're supposed to have a voice in all this actually seems to annoy them.

I continue to urge you to contact your representatives and give them a piece of your mind. I myself am doing everything I can to promote the correct point of view on the crisis. Be sure also to educate yourselves on these subjects - the Campaign for Liberty blog is an excellent place to start. Read the posts, ask questions in the comment section, and learn.

H.G. Wells once said that civilization was in a race between education and catastrophe. Let us learn the truth and spread it as far and wide as our circumstances allow. For the truth is the greatest weapon we have.

In liberty,

Ron Paul
